  • I like to shout out good customer service when I experience it. It seems I signed up for Math Playground in September - with good intentions of using it and all that. I totally forgot about it, until I saw the charge on my credit card today.

I tried to sign in, couldn't remember my login, and it didn't recognize any of my 4 email addresses to reset my password.

I'll admit, I was frustrated. I was paying for a service I wasn't using, and I couldn't even sign in to cancel it!

I emailed them - not feeling hopeful that I'd hear back. I also found their FB page, not used since 2018, but thought I'd take a chance and message there, too. (last week I'd emailed a service I pay tons of money for about their Black Friday sale and to this day haven't heard back).

Within less than 2 hours she had reset my password and sent me all of my login information.

I now will NOT cancel my service. Instead, I'll make a note to remind myself to have my kids use this service at least once a week.

If you are looking for a good service to use - look into Math Playground. I don't get any kickbacks or affiliate income from them.

Just a very, very satisfied customer. Having been in CS for years, I know the value of good CS, and I like to give a shoutout when I've been the recipient of great service.

  • I actually had another podcast planned for today, but God laid this one on my heart so strongly, I couldn't get away from it.

Then.....earlier this week, I really began to struggle with it.

Suddenly, the topic of this podcast was no longer just something I believed in theory....a topic I've addressed in several blog posts, but something that became a reality for me.

I'll just say - sometimes when our convictions become a reality and we have to take a strong stand -- and maybe even suffer for our beliefs...many times we encounter a battle.

And that was me for a couple of days.

A battle between what I truly believed, and what becoming a reality for me, my family, and my community.

    It's not easy, folks.

But I do know one thing is true: The church is in a huge battle. My question is, do we realize we're in a battle?

I fear that many do not see this battle for what it is.

It may be easy now, in the short term to give in, compromise, make deals and treaties, and negotiate.

But don't forget, negotiating and making treaties with your enemy never ends well.

Dear sisters - the Bible gives us clear instructions for what we need to do on the battlefield.

    Are you ready?

This is the topic of my podcast today. I pray it will strengthen and encourage your heart .

  • So - the past couple of days have been a struggle for me. But, God gave the victory last night. The funny part was, my struggle had to do with what I'd already recorded and scheduled for my podcast tomorrow. Yesterday morning, I went and unpublished that podcast - because I didn't feel like I could legitimately publish it with the way my heart was struggling. But then, late last night I recorded this intro and rescheduled my podcast for tomorrow. Here's the intro:

  • First, I want to thank each of you for your prayers. Many of you responded to the previous email, and it was so encouraging to read your responses.

    We could feel your prayers.

Each day that I talked with him, he expressed that he was feeling better.

Yesterday when I called, he was off of oxygen and taking his final dose of Remdesivir.

And much to everyone's surprise, he was released yesterday afternoon - a day early than was originally predicted.

    This is such a miracle!!

As he said, the doctor's were amazing, but prayer did the work.

He still has a lot of recovery before he'll be able to be back to his normal schedule. He is still very weak.

But we rejoice greatly in God's healing power and the wisdom that he gave the doctors who treated him.

And we are so grateful for everyone who prayed for him during this time. Please continue to pray that God will continue to pour strength into his physical body and restore him.
